Mobile Criminal Court Session Held in Samorogouan to Enhance Justice Accessibility

K©n©dougou: The High Court (TGI) of Orodara held a mobile criminal hearing on Friday, July 10, 2026, in the conference room of the Samorogouan town hall in order to bring justice closer to the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Deputy Prosecutor of Faso at the Orodara High Court, Stanislas Aim© Soura, opened the proceedings by praising the significant attendance of local residents and authorities. He highlighted that it was the first instance of a mobile criminal court hearing taking place in the municipality. Soura emphasized that the initiative aims to make justice more accessible, facilitate public access to the judicial system, and increase awareness about the functioning of the judicial institution.

During the session, two cases of aggravated rape were examined. In the first case, the accused was acquitted but was mandated to pay 200,000 FCFA to the victim's father, with an option to appeal within ten days. In the second case, the prosecutor recommended a ten-year prison sentence, with two years to be served and eight years suspended, along with a warrant for the defendant's arrest. The verdict for this case is anticipated on July 30, 2026, at the Orodara High Court.

The cases presented during the session date back to 2011 and 2014. All individuals summoned to appear were released at the end of the hearing. Before the session concluded, Comrade Soura expressed gratitude towards the nation's highest authorities and the Ministry in charge of Justice for their dedication to creating a more accessible justice system.

He encouraged citizens to utilize the justice system for resolving disputes and urged them to adhere to the Republic's laws to maintain peace and social harmony.
