Miss Tanya Triumphs at the 2026 Kunde d’Or Awards

Ouagadougou: Burkinabe musician Douti Tani Bikienga, known as Miss Tanya, emerged as the standout performer at the 24th edition of the Kunde d'Or, held on Friday evening at the Ouaga 2000 banquet hall. Tanya clinched an impressive five awards, including the coveted Kunde d'Or 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the talented artist also won awards for best video clip for her song "Rakire," best female artist, best modern song of traditional inspiration, and best Burkinabe collaboration. This remarkable achievement underscores her ascent in the Burkinabe and African music scenes, establishing her as a leading female voice in the industry.

Additionally, the popular musician Reman captured the Kunde du public award, which is determined by votes from fans, highlighting his widespread appeal and influence among the Burkinabe audience.

The event also featured honorary recognitions, with the Kunde d'honneur awards presented to Ahmed Alex Lawal Koanda, Claude Bassole, Eric Virgal, Awilo Longomba, and Angele Assele for their contributions to African and Burkinabe music. Furthermore, two tribute awards were posthumously awarded to Maestro Boncana Maga and Consty Eka, celebrating their lasting impact on the African music landscape.
