Minor Arrested for Alleged Double Homicide in Gobabis


Gobabis: A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an attack that left two people dead and one injured at Gobabis in the Omaheke Region on Friday.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the incident occurred around 11h20 at a residence in the Road Camp area of Epako. The victims have been identified as Nacky Mactchanisia Dalime Menatzick and her three-year-old daughter, Dalanie Esther Menatzick. It is alleged that the suspect attacked the family while they were inside their home.



A third victim, six-year-old Marvin Menatzick, sustained stab wounds during the attack but managed to escape. Reports indicate that the suspect allegedly locked the door to prevent the family from fleeing, and witnesses observed the mother pushing her six-year-old son through a window to seek help. The boy ran to the Epako Police Station to alert authorities.



Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the lifeless body of the mother. The three-year-old girl was found alive but severely injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance but later succumbed to her injuries. The six-year-old survivor was treated at the Epako Clinic for his injuries. The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Gobabis State Mortuary.



The police indicated that the alleged murder weapon was recovered at the scene. The suspect is in custody, and police investigations continue.
