Luanda: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MINJUD) is convening its XIV Advisory Council at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda, commencing on Wednesday, with the aim of evaluating public policies, defining action lines, and strengthening the development of ongoing initiatives.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the event, which concludes on Thursday, gathers government authorities, technicians, leaders of youth associations, sports federations, as well as representatives from public and private sectors connected to youth and sports. The council seeks to analyze policies and programs executed in 2025 and articulate priorities for the current year, intending to align government actions with the expectations of various social actors.
The agenda includes discussions on institutional strengthening and the initiation of cooperation mechanisms between the Government, local entities, federations, and partners. Additionally, it covers topics on school sports and expanding community access to training, recreational, and competitive programs. Scheduled proceedings start at 9:00 a.m. with speeches from the Governor of Luanda, Lus Manuel Nunes, and Minister of Sports, Rui Falco. This is followed by an evaluation of the recommendations from the XIII Consultative Council and a review of the Youth Development Plan (PDJ 2025-2027).
The program also features a review of activities under the National Sports Development Plan (PLANADESPORTOS 2024-2027). Recently, the Ministry has launched projects to encourage community sports practices, training young athletes and staff at the National Center for Sports Medicine, infrastructure development, and support mechanisms for school and community sports nationwide.
According to the Organic Statute of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the Advisory Council serves as the minister's consultative body on the conception, programming, coordination, and execution of sector activities. It is an annual forum for debate and consultation, allowing the Ministry to reflect on and adjust public policies, reinforcing sectoral participation in defining strategic paths.
