Minister Serge Poda Reports 74.70% Overall Performance for 2024

Ouagadougou: The Minister of Industry, Trade and Crafts, Serge Poda, presented the 2024 performance report for his department, revealing an overall achievement of 74.70%. The report was delivered during the first ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the Ministerial Sector (CASEM) on Monday, March 24, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Poda highlighted the extensive efforts made by his department in 2024, achieving an 88.13% completion rate of the 2024-2026 priority action plan. The ministerial sector also reached a physical execution rate of 91.94% for the 2024 annual work plan.

The report outlined key accomplishments including the revival of industrial enterprises, increased productivity in the craft sector, and enhanced market surveillance to ensure the availability of safe products for consumers. In the industrial sector, significant operational work was completed on Brasserie du Faso (BRAFASO) and the restructuring of Minoterie du Faso.

In the trade and crafts sector, the department successfully controlled approximately 30,000 actors as part of anti-fraud measures, organized the 17th edition of the SIAO, and provided weaving looms to artisans. Minister Poda noted that 2025 presents various economic development challenges, and he committed to continuing the major reforms initiated in 2024 with structural actions aimed at benefiting the population.
