Luanda: The Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, recognizes and highlights the selfless work that has been done by the employees and collaborators of the National Institute of Roads (INEA), an agency that on November 17 celebrates 33 years since its creation in 1991. Alluding to that date, the minister stressed that INEA’s performance remains unquestionable, due to its patriotic performance in the most critical moments of Angola’s history, a fact that allowed hope in socio-economic growth to be maintained and strengthened the consolidation of national unity, through the interconnection of the country by roads.
According to Angola Press News Agency, in view of the achievements of this institution, Minister Carlos dos Santos encourages all INEA employees to keep their focus on building road infrastructures that can support the movement of people and goods, allowing the realization of dreams of thousands of Angolans, in addition to enhancing various private initiatives. s that the Public Works sector praises and is proud of all the legacy already built, with conviction of the work for the well-being of the populations.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, INEA’s mission is to ensure the functions of promoting and coordinating the development of road infrastructure projects, in particular, roads and bridges, as well as their management in the scope of the construction, conservation, maintenance and operation of these infrastructures. Among several of INEA’s attributions, it is important to ensure the implementation of the road infrastructure policy, in an integrated perspective of spatial planning and economic development, as well as to ensure the quality of the road infrastructures concessioned and to ensure the execution of the respective contractual obligations.
