Minister of Women and ILO discuss joint efforts to empower women and promote family

Minister of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly Amel Belhaj Moussa, on Tuesday, met with a delegation of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) led by director of the organisation’s office in Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Mauritania Rania Bekhazi.

This meeting discussed the progress of cooperation programmes between the Ministry and the ILO, with a focus on promoting economic empowerment for women through the “Raidet” programme and the implementation of Law No. 37, which regulates domestic work.

The executive programme of the national plan on women and climate change was also at the heart of the talks.

The Minister and the ILO delegation also explored possibilities for cooperation in the Ministry’s new projects to promote the family and women, and for boosting joint action, in partnership with the UN agencies in Tunisia.
