Minister of Security Urges Calm and Responsibility in Yargatenga Following Recent Clash

Tenkodogo: The Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, met on the morning of Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Tenkodogo, with all the traditional chiefs of the Yargatenga department in the Koulpelogo province (Nakambe region). This meeting followed a clash that occurred on Saturday, November 8, 2025, between young people from the same extended family in the Yargatenga commune.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Sana reiterated the efforts undertaken to maintain peace and allow residents to continue their activities undisturbed in the area. He delivered a firm message to the youth, emphasizing the need for order, discipline, and responsibility.

He stressed that such behavior could not be tolerated and that it was no longer acceptable for sons and daughters of the same nation to fight each other.

The Minister of Security also warned the people of Yargatenga that if such acts are repeated, the Government will take the necessary measures to restore order, discipline, and state authority. He further reiterated that Burkina Faso has only one enemy: terrorism.

Mahamadou Sana urged the various parties to prioritize dialogue mechanisms, relying on religious, customary, and community leaders to resolve the crisis.

According to him, these actors have the necessary resources to restore peace. This message was well received by the local population and traditional leaders present. They pledged to continue discussions and to organize a day of forgiveness and reconciliation in the near future.

Minister Sana expressed satisfaction with the commitments made and his conviction that this crisis can be resolved. Local authorities, community leaders, and young people reaffirmed their determination to find lasting and definitive solutions.
