Minister of National Defense Calls for Firmness in Carrying Out Missions

Luanda: The Minister of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, Lºcio Amaral, appealed on Friday in Luanda to the ministry's employees to remain steadfast in fulfilling the tasks that the Organic Statute confers on each one. Lºcio Amaral made this appeal during the formal act of his presentation, in a ceremony led by the Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Joo Ernesto dos Santos.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister expressed gratitude to President Joo Louren§o for the trust placed in him to lead the ministry. The ministry is tasked with National Defense and fulfilling other governmental and political obligations as outlined in its Organic Statute. The minister highlighted that the action program would primarily build on the existing framework, with necessary analyses and adjustments.

In terms of human capital, Lºcio Amaral emphasized the need for continuity, with slight modifications if deemed necessary. He acknowledged that he counts on the support of the Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic in his new mission.

Joo Ernesto dos Santos, the Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, underscored the importance of readiness among public servants to meet new challenges. He praised General Lºcio Amaral for his exceptional qualities and service record, which earned him the support of the President of the Republic and Head of the Executive.

The minister's service record is notable, with a successful career in the Angolan military institution. He has progressed from being one of the best "War Corporals" to holding significant positions in the Angolan Armed Forces and the Executive. Lºcio Amaral has also served as Secretary of State for the Protection of Strategic Objectives of the Ministry of National Defense and Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, and as Provincial Governor of Cuando.
