Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will visit the Holy Community of Mount Athos on December 28-29.
On Wednesday, December 28, the Holy Community of Mount Athos will welcome the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Holy Temple of Protaton, where a Doxology will be held. A reception and an extraordinary meeting of the Holy Community will then take place in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will then visit the premises of the Administration of Mount Athos, as well as the Holy Monasteries of Pantokrator and Xenophon.
The following day, Thursday, December 29, the Minister will visit the Holy Monasteries of Dionysios and Docheiario.
This will be the first visit to Mount Athos by a Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2011.
The Greek Government is represented in the Athonite State by the Governor of Mount Athos, under the supervision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
