Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias will travel to Italy (Rome) tomorrow, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, where he will hold talks with the new Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
This will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ first meeting with his Italian counterpart since the latter took office on October 22, 2022.
The two Foreign Ministers will have a one-on-one meeting, followed by expanded talks. They are then expected to make joint statements to the press at approximately 13:00 (Greek time).
Afterwards, the Foreign Minister will have a working lunch with the new Chair of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Stefania Craxi, at the Greek Embassy Residence.
Lastly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have a meeting with the new Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign and Community Affairs of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Giulio Tremonti.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs’ talks with Italian officials during his stay in Rome are expected to focus, inter alia, on further strengthening bilateral relations, EU-related issues, migration/refugee issue, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as on developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Libya.
