Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will travel to Cairo tomorrow, Monday, March 28 2022, where he will hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly visited Cairo, his last visit having taken place on July 13, 2021, while the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt travelled to Athens on November 19, 2021, when he participated in the quadrilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Cyprus, Egypt and France.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs’ visit falls within the framework of the strategic and rapidly developing relations between Greece and Egypt.
Following the private meeting between the two Ministers, expanded talks will be held. Subsequently, joint statements to the press are expected to take place, at approximately 18:30.
Talks are expected to focus on deepening bilateral cooperation, the joint commitment of both countries to International Law, including the Law of the Sea, developments in Ukraine following the Russian invasion, the Eastern Mediterranean, developments in the Middle East, Libya, as well as in sub-Saharan Africa.
