Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) (Brussels, 13.12.2021)

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will travel tomorrow, Monday, December 13, to Brussels, where he will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC).

The agenda includes a discussion on EU-Africa relations, Central Asia as well as on the post-election situation in Venezuela.

Under “Current Affairs”, the issue of Varosha as well as the situation in Belarus and Ethiopia will be discussed. Specifically, regarding the first issue, participating Ministers will discuss the relevant options paper prepared by the European External Action Service and the European Commission, which includes proposals for the EU’s response to the ongoing Turkish unlawful conduct in Varosha.

In the context of the FAC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate along with his European counterparts in a working lunch with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Al-Thani.

On the sidelines of the FAC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to hold a meeting with Swedish Foreign Minister, Ann Linde.
