Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will meet tomorrow, Friday, April 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen.
The meeting will take place on the occasion of Geir Pedersen’s participation in the informal meeting (retreat) on Syria to be held in Athens (Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso Hotel, Kavouri) from April 21-23, 2023.
It is noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will address the opening of this meeting on April 21, 2023, at 12:20 pm.
The informal meeting on Syria is organized by the European Union, with the assistance of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will be attended, inter alia, by EU Member States’ Special Representatives for Syria.
The hosting of the above-mentioned meeting in Greece is indicative of Greece’s interest in the developments in Syria, as well as of the significance our country attaches to resolving the Syrian issue, so that conditions of stability and security in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region can be achieved.
