Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will meet tomorrow, April 27, in Athens, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malta, Ian Borg, in the context of the latter’s visit to Greece.
The two Foreign Ministers will hold a one-on-one meeting (at approximately 12:00), followed by expanded talks between the two delegations.
Subsequently, the signing of the Greece-Malta Cultural Cooperation will take place at approximately 13:30.
The two Foreign Ministers will make joint statements to the press at approximately 13:40.
Discussions are expected to cover, inter alia, the further promotion of bilateral relations in various sectors (such as economy, investments, tourism, and culture), cooperation between the two countries within the EU, the UN, and other international organizations, their cooperation within the EUMED-9, the migration-refugee issue, and a range of international and regional issues, such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine and developments in Libya.
The Maltese Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate today, April 26, in the event of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the presentation of Greece’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2025-26 term, to be held at the Acropolis Museum.
The above-mentioned visit follows Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias’ visit to Malta in October 2022.
