It was a great pleasure for me today to be here in Bahrain in the context of the “Manama Dialogue” Forum. I had the honour, along with my counterpart, of signing two Agreements between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hellenic Republic, on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies and on diplomatic passports, so as to facilitate contacts between our two countries.

In addition, during our bilateral meeting, we examined thoroughly our relations. I’m preparing the Prime Minister’s visit to Bahrain as well as the signing of eight other Agreements between the Kingdom and the Hellenic Republic. Aside from that, we took a general overview of the world: the problems caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the problems in Europe, regarding security, and the supply chain, but also the problems in Africa, in sub-Saharan Africa, and in the Gulf. And in general, we made a thorough analysis of the current situation.

I also had the opportunity to brief him on the issues concerning the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean, and what Greece faces from Turkey’s provocative conduct.

I conclude by saying that our relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain and with the Gulf countries are a success story. We have established a close bond, a bond that allows for mutual investment and communication between our peoples.
