Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement upon arrival at the Μeeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs (Brussels, 07.04.2022)N. DENDIAS: Greece is going to ask the International Criminal Court in the Hague to investigate crimes of war conducted in Mariupol. Greece has a specific, special interest in Mariupol because of the existence of a Greek community of 100.000 and more people in Mariupol.

Apart from that, I am going to ask my colleagues of the Alliance to try our best to help Ukraine to protect Odessa, so that Odessa can avoid the fate of Mariupol. Thank you so much.

JOURNALIST: Which way? How can Odessa be protected? How can colleagues from NATO help with it?

N. DENDIAS: It is quite simple: by giving Ukraine the adequate means to protect the city. They have asked for it already. I was in Odessa three or four days ago. I was able to speak with Ukrainians in the city. I have to say, they are willing and able to protect the city, provided that we provide them with the adequate means. Thank you so much.
