Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement following his participation in the Solidarity Conference on Ukraine (Paris, 13.12.2022)I represented the Greek Government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis here in Paris today at the Conference on Ukraine organized by President Macron. I spoke of what Greece has provided, but also the areas of special interest for Greece, such as Odessa, Kherson, the martyr city of Mariupol, and Zaporizhzhia. Greece supports Ukraine, as do all its Western friends and allies.

However, Greece is also working for something much greater, something absolutely critical for our national survival: the prevalence in the world community of a narrative about protecting the independence and territorial integrity of all states. So that any war, any threat of war, and any kind of revisionism be regarded by the world community as a grave crime. And that the world community would have an obligation to always stand by those who are threatened by larger neighbours who do not respect International Law.
