Community To Benefit From Borehole Project Worth Sh3million

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya launched construction of a borehole at Kaptien village in Kiminini Sub County that will cost Sh3million.

The water project, which is fully funded by the county government, will involve drilling and connection of piped water that will serve Kaptien primary and secondary schools as well as the neighbouring communities.

The devolved unit has allocated a total of Sh3million for the project, which includes piping and installation of water tanks.

Addressing members of the public, Governor Natembeya noted that upon completion, the water project will supply enough water to an estimated population of 5000 people, comprised of the two institutions and surrounding communities.

The proposed borehole will have an estimated depth 150m, 6? (inches) diameter and an anticipated production of up to 5m/hr.

The county boss reiterated his administration’s focus and determination towards fulfilling all its pre-election development pledges.

The Governor was accompanied by the County Secretary Truphosa Amere, CECMS Samson Ojwang (PSM), Boniface Wanyonyi (Finance), Dr Pepela Wanjala (Health), Patrick Gacheru (Water), Chief Officers Dr Emmanuel Wanjala, Dickson Wamocho, Chief of Staff Sammy Sichangi and area MCA Waswa among others.
