Benguela: The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac dos Anjos, has commended the 'Pembat' Integrated Poultry Production Complex for demonstrating that Angola can produce chickens within a 30-day cycle. According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister expressed his appreciation during the inauguration of three major agro-industrial projects in Benguela province. These projects include an egg and broiler chicken production unit, a pig and goat slaughterhouse in Asseque, and a tomato processing plant in Dombe Grande. The minister emphasized the significance of the poultry complex in creating jobs, generating income, and strengthening the national production chain. He also praised the entrepreneurial spirit of a young investor from the financial sector who developed the slaughterhouse for pigs and goats, highlighting the importance of such ventures for the province. Additionally, Minister dos Anjos announced the government's intention to gradually reduce pork and poultry imports to bolster national pr oduction. The reactivation of the Dombe Grande tomato factory, facilitated by funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, was also noted as a key development in the region.
