Minister Mahamoudou Sana Mobilizes Forces to Enhance Security Across Burkina

OUAGADOUGOU: Newly appointed Minister of Security, Divisional Police Commissioner Mahamoudou Sana, called on his colleagues to bolster efforts in securing Burkinabe cities and countryside, emphasizing the need for collective action and preparation for high-intensity scenarios.

According to Burkina Information Agency, who spoke during his official installation in Ouagadougou on Tuesday, the ministry will focus on regaining territorial integrity and enhancing national security. He highlighted the importance of intelligence, action, and national unity in tackling the security challenges that face Burkina Faso. The Minister stressed the urgency of preparing for high-intensity conflicts, requiring a strategic and collaborative approach from all security forces.

The security initiatives discussed include the operationalization of the National Security Strategy and strengthening coordination among various internal security forces. Minister Sana also mentioned the continuation of ongoing projects aimed at improving security measures and implementing effective prevention policies across the country.

Sana, who previously served as Minister Delegate for Security, was appointed Minister of Security on August 1, 2024, following a government reshuffle. His call for support underscores the critical need for a united front in the fight against threats to Burkina’s urban and rural areas.
