Dori: The Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosthene Dingara, called on all actors in the education system to redouble their efforts with rigor, discipline, and collective commitment during the launch of the resumption of educational activities for the second term of the 2025-2026 school year. The event took place at the ‘Forces vives’ school in Dori.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony gathered administrative authorities, constituted bodies, education stakeholders, partners, and students. The event featured a solemn raising of the national colors, accompanied by the sound of ditanye in Fulfulde, symbolizing an attachment to cultural and republican values.
Minister Jacques Sosthene Dingara paid tribute to teachers in the Liptako region and other areas facing security challenges, acknowledging their courage, selflessness, and high sense of duty. He highlighted that these teachers represent a belief in education as a lever for resistance, social cohesion, and national reconstruction, even in challenging contexts.
He reiterated that ongoing reforms in the Basic Education sub-sector aim to establish a Burkinabe school system that is rooted in national realities, equitable in access, and beneficial for the country’s development. This vision aligns with the progressive popular revolution led by President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
On behalf of the students from the region, Rachida Cisse expressed gratitude for the minister’s visit and the attention given to their education despite the difficult security situation. She noted that the minister’s presence in Dori sent a message of hope and encouragement.
Rachida Cisse also affirmed the students’ determination to continue their education with seriousness and resilience, while emphasizing their commitment to promoting civic duty, patriotism, and responsibility among their peers.
