EENHANA – With Namibia’s general elections approaching on 27 November 2024, Minister in the Presidency Christine Hoebes has urged all eligible voters to register before the closing of the General Registration of Voters (GRV) on 01 August. Hoebes emphasized the importance of registration during her speech at the Eenhana Trade and Business Expo.
According to Namibia Press Agency, it is crucial for all eligible Namibians, especially the youth, to register in the remaining hours of the GRV. She highlighted that participating in the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections is not only a patriotic duty but also essential for maintaining the nation’s political stability, peace, and economic growth. “Voting is the right thing to do to continue enjoying the benefits such as those provided by events like the Eenhana Town expo,” she stated.
The Electoral Commission of Namibia recently announced a significant achievement in voter registration, with over 1.315 million Namibians registered, which represents 81% of eligible voters. This includes registrations both within the country and at Namibian Diplomatic Missions abroad. With just one day left for voter registration, the push for increased participation continues.
