Minister Highlights Improved Business Environment in Angola at Dubai Forum

Dubai: Angola is currently undergoing a new phase of economic growth and structural reforms, aimed at diversifying the economy, improving the business environment, and promoting national and foreign private investment, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, T©te Antonio, said Thursday in Dubai. The minister made these statements during his participation in the Africa-United Arab Emirates Economic Forum, where he presented the country's economic potential and extended an invitation to foreign entrepreneurs and investors to consider investing in Angola.

According to Angola Press News Agency, T©te Antonio emphasized that the ongoing reforms are designed to create a more favorable environment for investment, focusing on macroeconomic stability, legal security, and strengthening public-private partnerships. The minister highlighted agriculture, energy, mineral resources, manufacturing, logistics, transport, tourism, and infrastructure as strategic sectors with high investment potential, essential for Angola's sustainable economic growth.

The minister also underscored the significance of the Lobito Corridor, a project classified as crucial for regional integration, which connects the Port of Lobito to the interior of Angola and extends to the markets of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia. The Lobito Corridor, according to the minister, offers strategic opportunities for investors in rail and port transport, logistics, agro-industry, mining, and associated value chains, all contributing to Angola's and the region's economic development.

Reaffirming the Angolan government's commitment to political and macroeconomic stability, the minister assured mechanisms to facilitate investment and highlighted the role of economic diplomacy in fostering advantageous partnerships. Businesspeople from the United Arab Emirates and other countries participating in the forum were invited to explore the opportunities available in Angola, with the assurance of support and oversight from national institutions for investment projects.

The Forum of Operators to Secure Economic Emergency in Africa (FOGECA) serves as a pan-African platform dedicated to promoting economic development and regional integration, focusing on encouraging investment, South-South partnerships, and alignment with the African Union's Agenda 2063.
