Huambo: The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, has advocated for the exploration and transformation of Angola’s natural resources into wealth to benefit its citizens. This call to action was made during the opening of the Forum on Investment in Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas held in Huambo.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Minister Azevedo emphasized that as Angola approaches the 50th anniversary of its independence on November 11, the nation must transition from being merely rich in potential mineral resources to effectively capitalizing on these resources. Highlighting the abundant potential of Angola’s subsoil, he stressed that the true wealth of the nation resides in the talents of its people, the vision of its youth, and the courage of entrepreneurs and investors who believe in a prosperous future.

Under the leadership of President Joo Louren§o, the Minister noted that the mining and oil sectors are undergoing reforms to better serve the country by implementing clear regulations, attracting responsible investments, and empowering provinces to assume leading roles. These strategic measures have positioned Huambo as a burgeoning frontier for Angolan mining and energy, with ongoing projects in diamonds, gold, rare earths, ornamental stones, and copper, among other initiatives poised to transition into full-fledged mining operations.

Minister Azevedo assured investors that Angola presents more than just opportunities for resource extraction. It is a nation offering genuine prospects for those committed to ethical business practices, local training, and long-term partnerships. The forum will address various themes, including Angola’s overall mining potential, opportunities to enhance the mineral production chain, and investment prospects in the oil, gas, and biofuels sectors.
