Minister Alhamdou Ag Ilyène Highlights Mali’s Digital Advancements and Future Projects

Mali: Minister Alhamdou Ag Ilyène presented a summary of the actions carried out by his department over the past five years, focusing on major projects within the framework of the AES (Agency for Economic and Social Development). According to Burkina Information Agency, several advances were cited by Minister Ilyène, including the digitization of criminal records, the introduction of electronic payments for certain public services, and the gradual launch of the One-Stop Shop for Administration. These initiatives have led to the resolution of several thousand network incidents, a trend expected to continue with the deployment of more digital solutions aimed at enhancing public administration performance. Regarding future prospects, the minister indicated that ongoing reforms will remain a priority. He announced plans to complete the ORTM Tower, launch new regional channels, adopt electronic signatures on a wider scale, strengthen cybersecurity, and expand digital infrastructure. The modernization of La Poste , potentially transforming it into a state-owned company, is also on the agenda, alongside the development of new services like Post'Express and La Banque Postale. Communication within the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) is also a priority. The minister highlighted the partnership agreement between the public media outlets of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, which established the AES Web TV portal, AES TV, AES Radio, and the AES Press Agency. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Heads of State to develop shared communication platforms among AES member states.
