Mo§smedes: The Minister of Social Action, Family and Women's Promotion, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional coordination and community engagement to effectively address the social challenges impacting Angolan families. Her remarks were made during the official opening of the 8th Ordinary Consultative Council of the Ministry, which convenes officials from both central and local levels to evaluate the implementation of past guidelines and develop new strategies for social intervention.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the council aims to conduct a thorough evaluation of compliance with the recommendations from the previous Consultative Council. It also seeks to diagnose the current state of the sector by identifying the primary challenges faced by various areas of social action in Angola. The minister underscored the Ministry's commitment to improving institutional response mechanisms for issues affecting families experiencing poverty and social vulnerability. She called for enhanced coordination between central and provincial services and social partners to ensure that social policies effectively impact people's lives.
During her address, the minister also stressed the need for a culture among sector professionals that recognizes and promptly corrects failures, with the goal of enhancing the quality of public services provided to the population. She explained that throughout the council's deliberations, each sector area should present its main achievements and challenges from May 2025 to the present, along with proposals for suitable solutions to overcome identified obstacles.
Additionally, the meeting aims to reinforce alignment between the National Development Plan (PDN) and the Executive's social programs, ensuring more effective implementation of public policies focused on social inclusion and family protection. Ana Paula do Sacramento reiterated the importance of investing in people by creating opportunities, protecting rights, strengthening families, and promoting social inclusion to ensure greater dignity, security, and hope for the future of citizens. She emphasized that addressing social challenges requires stronger institutional coordination, closer community ties, and an integrated approach to public intervention.
