Moscow: Military and technical cooperation between Ethiopia and the Russian Federation is a key pillar of the longstanding and strategic partnership of the two countries, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Defense, Martha Luwigi, underscored. The 14th Meeting of the Ethiopia-Russian Intergovernmental Working Group on Military-Technical Cooperation began today in Moscow.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, an Ethiopian delegation led by State Minister of Defense and co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Working Group, Martha Luwigi, is taking part in the meeting. In her opening remarks, Martha emphasized that military and technical cooperation between Ethiopia and the Russian Federation is a key pillar of their longstanding and strategic partnership.
The State Minister also noted that the Working Group serves as an appropriate platform to review military collaboration between the two countries and to enhance Ethiopia’s defense capabilities through capacity-building initiatives and opportunities for technology transfer.
Chairman of the Russian Working Group, Anatoly Punchuk, on his part, expressed his country’s readiness to further enhance the military and technical cooperation between the two countries.
