Military Academy Donates Traffic Light to Improve Safety in Pô

PÔ — The Georges Namoano Military Academy has donated a traffic light to the commune of Pô, enhancing road safety in a key area of the town. The initiative is part of the academy’s community outreach associated with the graduation of its 23rd class of active student officers.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the traffic light was formally handed over in a ceremony held on April 19, 2024. The event was attended by municipal authorities and the leadership of the Georges Namoano Military Academy. This contribution aims to address long-standing traffic safety concerns in the community.

Ilassa Dianda, the president of the special delegation of Pô, expressed his gratitude, noting that the installation of the traffic light at a critical intersection on national road No. 25, near the Medical Center with surgical branch, represents a significant improvement in local infrastructure. He emphasized that the traffic light is expected to substantially reduce the number of traffic accidents in the area.

Commander Williams Baguéra of the AMGN highlighted the significance of the donation, stating that it marks a substantial contribution to the development and well-being of Pô’s residents. He noted that this traffic light is among several projects undertaken by the academy to benefit the community since 2022.
