Mexican President Reaffirms Stance Against Foreign Intervention in Sovereign Nations

Beijing: Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reiterated her opposition to any form of foreign intervention in the internal affairs of sovereign countries, specifically addressing recent tensions between the United States and Venezuela. "We will never be in favor of foreign government intervention in a sovereign country," the president declared during her daily press conference, responding to the escalation in the Caribbean Sea after the United States deployed warships near the coast of Venezuela, an action Washington claims is part of its strategy to combat international drug cartels.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico will adhere to a foreign policy grounded in the respect for sovereignty, the self-determination of peoples, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. This stance aligns with the constitutional principles that guide Mexican diplomacy.

"Mexico's foreign policy clearly states 'no' to interventionism and 'yes' to the defense of the self-determination of peoples. That will always be our position," Sheinbaum affirmed, underscoring Mexico's commitment to maintaining these diplomatic principles.
