Meru: Meru County workers who have been away from duty for the last six months for one reason or another have been directed to report to the Chief Officer-In-Charge of Public Service and Administration for immediate reassignment. During a meeting with various Departmental Directors and Administrators, the newly appointed Meru County Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Mbijiwe, emphasized the readiness of the new Governor Reverend Isaac Mutuma to collaborate with all employees to restore the County’s previous status.

According to Kenya News Agency, Dr. Mbijiwe stated, “This is a new page for the County and we don’t want to leave anyone behind. We are, therefore, calling on all those workers who were out to join us, as the development train kicks off, so that we can make appropriate changes together.” The meeting also discussed the introduction of a cleanliness day for the entire County, encouraging workers and the public to clean their towns and markets to foster a culture of cleanliness.

Dr. Mbijiwe highlighted the duty of maintaining the County’s cleanliness and engaging residents to adopt it as a responsibility. He assured the workers that no one would be victimized and stressed the government’s agenda to unite all residents and staff of Meru to create a harmonious working environment.

“I also want to announce to our workers that Governor Mutuma has worked hard to pay all the workers, the February and the March salary was also in the process. We have also managed to post their statutory deductions up to January and the rest of the months will also be cleared in the next few days,” Dr. Mbijiwe added. He encouraged residents to attend President William Ruto’s development tour in the County scheduled for tomorrow.
