BUURI SUB-COUNTY, MERU COUNTY – Meru County Woman Representative Ms. Karambu Kailemia has reassured Kenyans that the government under President William Ruto is effectively addressing the nation’s cost of living. Speaking to journalists in Buuri Sub-County, Ms. Kailemia cited the recent decrease in petroleum product prices as a key indicator of progress, which she believes will lead to a reduction in the cost of production across various sectors, including food commodities.

According to Kenya News Agency, the downward trend in petrol prices is a direct result of President Ruto’s commitment to reducing living costs. “I am very convinced that President William Ruto is more concerned about the cost of living than anybody else,” she stated. She expressed surprise that some people have not acknowledged the decrease in petroleum prices, despite their continuous complaints about the high cost of living.

Kailemia emphasized that lowering the cost of living has been a priority for President Ruto from the outset, particularly as he advocated the bottom-up economic model. She expressed confidence in the President’s ongoing commitment to this agenda. “He will make a positive change in Kenya, and we can already see the changes,” she added.

The County MP highlighted President Ruto’s efforts to negotiate international job opportunities for Kenyan youth, which she views as a means to prevent illegal migration often ending in tragedy. She also pointed to the government’s initiative in creating digital jobs through the Ajira Program, aiming to engage the youth productively and contribute to the nation’s economy.

In the agricultural sector, Ms. Kailemia noted that farmers are set to benefit from bumper harvests due to the provision of subsidized farm inputs, which is another strategy to alleviate the cost of living.

Ms. Kailemia called on Kenyans to be patient and supportive of the President’s programs, asserting that he has well-intentioned plans for the country. She criticized those who continuously complain about the cost of living, suggesting that many of them were part of the previous regime and therefore lack credibility in their criticism. “We all know the cost of living was high even before the Ruto regime came into power,” she remarked, urging patience and prayers for the President as he tackles the challenging task of managing the nation’s economy.

In conclusion, Kailemia encouraged a positive outlook towards Kenya’s future, emphasizing the importance of constructive attitudes for national progress.
