Ouagadougou: Naba Ilboudo, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Bam, was honored as a knight of the Order of Academic Palms for his longstanding dedication to education. The accolade was part of a ceremony where 362 individuals were recognized for their contributions to the nation, held on October 24, 2024, in Ouagadougou, to mark World Teachers' Day under the theme "Valorizing the voices of teachers: towards a new social contract for education." According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony highlighted the significant contributions of educators like Ilboudo, who was among those celebrated for their efforts in educational advancement. Ilboudo expressed his gratitude to national authorities and the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, dedicating his award to his supporters in Bam and expressing a commitment to continue his efforts. The Order of Academic Palms is an honor that recognizes exceptional contributions to education in Burkina Faso. During the event, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Prof. Adjima Thiombiano, emphasized the crucial role of educators, particularly in the challenging context of the nation's security crisis.
