Leraba: Members of village prevention observatories were trained in community conflict management from Monday, December 1 to Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in the departments of Sindou. The regional directorate in charge of the Promotion of Citizenship and Peace of Tannounyan, led by Ibrahim Traore, organized this training session aimed at equipping members with skills to prevent and manage community conflicts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training focused on techniques for preventing and managing community conflicts, as well as promoting social cohesion and harmony in the departments of Sindou and the province of Leraba. Alimata Sanou/Traore, the trainer for the session, provided participants with insights into recurring community conflicts within localities and techniques for managing these conflicts based on social values, human rights principles, and the State's responsibility in human rights matters.
The participants consisted of various community figures, including village chiefs, land chiefs, blacksmiths, griots, members of Village Development Councils (VDCs), and religious leaders. Ibrahim Traore emphasized the importance of these actors applying the techniques learned to promote peace and serve as role models within their communities. He encouraged the community to manage conflicts locally using available resources before escalating issues to higher levels, highlighting the effectiveness of local values in achieving peaceful coexistence.
