Media Professionals Briefed on Faso Mebo Initiative in Gourma

Fada n'gourma: As part of efforts to promote communication about government initiatives, the Gourma Provincial Directorate of Communication organized an awareness session for media professionals in the province on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Fada N'Gourma. The event was chaired by the High Commissioner of Gourma Province, Silas Nacanabo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the media professionals' awareness meeting, held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, focused on the progress and challenges of implementing the presidential initiative Faso Mebo in the city of Yendabili. Lieutenant Alex Dah and Warrant Officer Souleymane Ouattara from the Goulmou Regional Coordination of Faso Mebo delivered two presentations: one on the objectives of the "beautification" phase of the initiative in Fada N'Gourma and the other on the progress made on the ground.

The spokespeople noted that since the start of the project, the local population has demonstrated patriotic commitment through donations of materials, food, aggregates, and cement. However, they emphasized that the construction site is facing several challenges. Among the constraints mentioned are a shortage of technicians specializing in paving, as the site currently has only one technician, and the lack of electricity for the operation of certain equipment.

The High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, stated that this meeting with members of the media aims to solicit their support in strengthening public information and awareness campaigns, with a view to ensuring the success of the Faso Mebo initiative in Fada N'Gourma. He invited the media to fully play their role in supporting this development project initiated by the highest authorities in the country.
