Ouagadougou: The first Chief Materials Accountant (CPM) of the Burkina Information Agency (AIB), Souaybou Traoré, pledged on Friday, during his installation, to implement his skills and experience for effective management. “I am committed to implementing all the skills and experience acquired during my career to ensure efficient management that complies with current standards,” said AIB’s new Chief Materials Accountant (CPM), Souaybou Traoré.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Traoré also congratulated the highest authorities of the country for the confidence placed in his modest person and pledged to take up with determination and dedication the challenge of the mission assigned to him. The new CPM of the AIB officially took office on Friday, November 8, 2024 in Ouagadougou, in the premises of the said agency.
He also requested the collaboration of the Director General of the AIB, Séraphine Somé, and the support of all of his colleagues to achieve the expected objectives. Souaybou Traoré explaine
d that the Main Material Accounting Office is a technical department responsible for managing the material and immaterial assets of the structure, in accordance with the texts in force. “I am aware of the challenges and the heavy responsibility that falls on me for the smooth running of the AIB,” he said.
He also expressed his gratitude to his former colleagues in the province of Bazèga, in the Centre-South region, for their trust and unwavering support, after spending five years there. The new Director General of the AIB (DGAIB), Séraphine Somé, installed last September, indicated that the agency is in a process of restructuring.
The agency’s first manager pointed out that the structure had been a department attached to Editions Sidwaya since 1999, before regaining its autonomy on August 21, 2024. Séraphine Somé noted that this new phase is decisive for the operationalization of the agency with the arrival of other actors. “Souaybou Traoré arrives at a time when everything needs to be done. ng on him to draw up an inventory of the goods and services, the materials, the equipment, the vehicle fleet and, in general, the assets of the AIB,” she said.
Séraphine Somé indicated her availability and that of her colleagues to support the new CPM in the success of its mission. The representative of the Director General of State Real Estate Affairs (DGAIE), representing the Minister in charge of the Economy, Drissa Gnamou, stressed that commitment and loyalty to the regulations relating to the management of State property must be Mr. Traoré’s compass to achieve the desired objectives. “Your actions should contribute to controlling the state’s standard of living, as recommended by the authorities,” he added.
According to him, the new CPM will, among other things, monitor the administrative and accounting management of movable and immovable property in service or in stock, carry out a periodic inventory of the agency’s materials, control the movement of materials, manage fuel and certify final supplier i
nvoices. As a reminder, the financial services controller, Souaybou Traoré, was appointed by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 as the first CPM of the AIB.
