Tomorrow, 16 September 2021, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will conduct a sod turning for the Blompark Housing Development in Gansbaai, which is situated in the Overstrand Municipality.
This development which forms part of the Integrated Residential Development Programme (IRDP), has a budget allocation of just over R 78 million. It will deliver 539 housing units and is estimated to be completed by the end of March 2023.
Minister Simmers said: “This event is but the start of the tangible and life changing difference we’re making to the people of this area. I’m looking forward to witnessing how these units will become homes to our qualifying and deserving beneficiaries.
This also demonstrates what can be achieved when the two spheres of government, and in this case the Western Cape Government and the Overstrand Municipality, work together for the benefit of the residents. The people of Gansbaai and surrounding communities that will benefit have a lot to look forward to.”
There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
