Samburu: Member of County Assembly (MCA) Loosuk Ward in Samburu County, Lkaunda Lenamparasio, has announced the launch of a bursary program aimed at supporting 92 students. The initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to students across different educational levels, encouraging parents to enroll their children in schools to benefit from this opportunity.
According to Kenya News Agency, Lenamparasio, while addressing the community during the launch, emphasized the importance of education and called upon parents in Loosuk Ward to prioritize their children's schooling. He highlighted the need for leaders in the county to contribute to educational support by offering bursaries to vulnerable students, thereby minimizing school dropouts due to financial constraints.
The distribution of beneficiaries includes 25 from Loosuk village, 12 from Pura, 25 from Malaso, and 30 from Tinga village. Lenamparasio specified the financial allocation for different educational levels: secondary school students will receive Sh10,000, college students Sh15,000, and university students Sh20,000. The bursary cheques are scheduled to be disbursed next week to ensure students are not sent home due to unpaid school fees.
Lenamparasio also called for unity among leaders in Samburu County to promote rapid development and enhance service delivery to the community.
