KHORIXAS: President Nangolo Mbumba has commended Swapo’s achievements in Khorixas and across Namibia, emphasizing the party’s development efforts over its 34-year governance.

According to Namibia News Agency, Mbumba addressed a Swapo rally in Khorixas, highlighting significant developments such as infrastructure improvements, school renovations in Kunene, and the newly inaugurated vocational training center in Khorixas. Mbumba declared the training center a product of the Swapo Party government, emphasizing its importance to the people of Khorixas, Kunene, and Namibia as a whole.

Mbumba further stated that Swapo’s manifesto is grounded in realistic goals, detailing past accomplishments and future plans aimed at empowering Namibians politically, socially, culturally, and economically. He assured the attendees that the manifesto is devoid of “empty promises.”

The president also noted the Swapo-led government’s investment of N.dollars 10 million in the construction and upgrading of medical facilities within t
he Kunene Region. However, he acknowledged that the manifesto did not address the ongoing drought issues in Kunene, though it did highlight the human-wildlife conflict.

Efforts to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts were discussed, with Mbumba mentioning meetings with traditional chiefs and the relevant ministry to find collaborative solutions. The Ministry of Environment has reportedly improved compensation for affected communities and is actively engaging with them to address these conflicts.

Mbumba concluded by urging continued support for Swapo in the upcoming November national elections, promising ongoing development in Khorixas and the broader Kunene Region under Swapo’s leadership.
