Ouagadougou: Journalist and publication director of the online newspaper La Tribune du Faso, Marcus Kouaman, was elected president of the technical committee for issuing the Press Card and the Pass, Thursday in Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the participants also elected Evariste Kabor© as vice-president and Elza Sandrine Sawadogo as rapporteur. The technical committee comprises a total of 12 members from professional media organizations, plus four observers representing the Ministry of Communication and the Higher Council of Communication.

The committee is responsible for issuing press cards and passes to media professionals who meet the required conditions, thus contributing to the improvement of the media sector. “It must also ensure that the granting of these documents is transparent, fair, and in line with the legal provisions that regulate the media sector in our country,” said the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Pingdwend© Gilbert Ou©draogo, at the committee’s installation.

Marcus Kouaman replaces Aboubacar Sanfo, whose term ended over a year ago.
