The “Red Frontier” team won on Tuesday evening in Saaba (peripheral district of Ouagadougou), the 6th edition of the football maracana tournament of the Association of Young Leaders for Development (AJLD ), beating Avenir FC in the final by a narrow score of 1 goal to 0, we noted.

Things went quickly at the start of the meeting. Balanced at the start for twice 25 minutes, the match took another turn with the domination of Frontière rouge after 10 th minute of play. The team manages to open the scoring in the 11 th minute until the end of the first part .

When we resume, we take the same ones and start over. The “Red and White” of Red Frontier return fully inflated. They leave no space for the “Blue and White” of Avenir FC and manage the meeting as they please until the end of the 50 minutes allotted to the game.

Red border therefore wins the trophy, the gold medal, the sum of 150,000 FCFA, a ball and gadgets, leaving 75,000 FCFA to the vice-champion (Avenir FC), a ball, the silver medal and gadgets.

The competition was initiated to occupy young people for the development of the municipality of Saaba and by extension, Burkina Faso according to the organizers. For the president of the AJLD Parfait Kaboré “we started from the observation that during the holidays the young people are left to themselves. We have found them a framework of holy entertainment so that young people can meet to discuss in order to build the development of our country”.

He also said that the competition aims to “detect young talents who will meet to form other teams for other competitions”.

As an innovation for this 6th edition of the AJLD maracana, these are the rewards per game for each top scorer. “We wanted each match to give each top scorer a reward to give more energy to the competition,” explained the president of AJLD Parfait Kaboré.

It was the CEO of COOPEC AFA Alexandre Thomas Alexandre who accompanied the association with this award for best scorer per game. According to him, “the initiative of these young people is commendable. They are well organized young people. We sponsored the prize for the best scorer per game to help raise the level of the game. And now this edition has been more prolific in goals”.

The ceremony was patronized by Rasmané Ilboudo. He agreed to sponsor this edition because “I am a native of the municipality of Saaba and I played on this ground 34 years ago. It is my young brothers who are here today, it goes without saying that I accompany them. “Secondo” is the youth and we must support them in all their actions, encourage them because it is about the development of the municipality”.

He also found the level of the game to be very high. “These players have the know-how to handle the ball. They have the technique. We can only push them towards professionalism”.

32 teams were at the start since the launch of the 6th edition on July 17, 2023.
