Manni Municipal Consultation Focuses on Improved Coordination for Socio-Economic Activities


MANNI, Gnagna — The Manni municipal consultation framework held its first ordinary session of 2024 on June 13, aiming to enhance the coordination of socio-economic activities in health, nutrition, water, and sanitation. This meeting gathered various stakeholders, including civil society organizations, Village Development Committees, traditionalists, and decentralized services to address the coordination of actions by non-governmental organizations and other projects at the municipal level.



According to Burkina Information Agency, which supported the session, the special delegation of the municipality expressed a strong desire for improved coordination across these critical sectors. The session also served to update the mapping of partners involved in these sectors. In addition, the meeting reviewed the health and nutritional situation in Manni, the humanitarian challenges facing the community, the 2024 Annual Investment Plan, and the accessibility of village areas.



The humanitarian efforts discussed included a planned purchase of food worth seven million CFA francs to aid Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) estimated at 20,000, along with vulnerable host households. The essential needs of the IDPs, such as food, shelter, blankets, mats, and healthcare, were also highlighted as priority areas for immediate action.



Viviane Bourgou, the first vice-president of the special delegation of Manni, who chaired the session, emphasized the importance of engaging with all partners to ensure better coordination of the planned activities. She also expressed gratitude on behalf of the special delegation to RESONUT and all development partners working in Manni for their continued support of vulnerable populations.
