Manica Group Namibia Contributes N.dollars 600 000 to Kuisebmond School Hall Project

Walvis bay: Manica Group Namibia has made a significant donation of N.dollars 600 000 towards the construction of a multi-purpose hall at Kuisebmond Secondary School. This initiative is set to provide a central assembly venue for learners from various schools in the Kuisebmond area.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the proposed facility will extend its use beyond educational purposes, serving the broader community with activities such as vocational training, youth development initiatives, and other public-interest programmes. This move underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing community resources and support structures.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ralph Ruiters, Managing Director of Manica Group Namibia, highlighted the vital role of the private sector in fostering community development. Reflecting on his own upbringing in Kuisebmond, Ruiters stated, “Growing up in Kuisebmond, I recall a joyful childhood. The presence of sports facilities and parks was a major contribution to that joy.” He emphasized the necessity for businesses to engage more intentionally in community investment, noting that this funding is part of Manica’s broader education drive aimed at creating healthy and conducive learning environments.

Jonathan Maswahu, principal of the school, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that the construction of the roof trusses is projected to commence in April. Supporting this sentiment, Vilho Nevonga, vice-chairperson of the school hall committee, welcomed the contribution, acknowledging its pivotal role in advancing the project’s completion. “This contribution has touched our hearts and will go a long way toward completing the construction,” he expressed.

The financial support is a component of Manica Group Namibia’s corporate social investment programme, which prioritizes education, youth empowerment, community upliftment, and environmental sustainability. The company highlighted its commitment to sustainable, long-term impact, focusing on improving access to opportunities and fortifying community structures.
