Manhunt Launched After Business Robbery at Musina Guest House

POLOKWANE – The Police in Musina have initiated a manhunt for suspects involved in a business robbery at a local guest house in Musina town, which took place on Monday, 20 November 2023, around 21:15. The incident led to a shootout between the suspects and security officers, resulting in injuries and one suspect’s arrest.

According to South Africa Police Service, a security guard at the guest house was approached by three individuals in a white Toyota Corolla, posing as customers seeking accommodation. The suspects then revealed firearms, robbing the guard of his cell phone. During the subsequent shootout, prompted by a security guard pressing a panic button, one suspect was critically injured after jumping from the double storey, while the others escaped. Additionally, a 39-year-old lodger was shot and injured.

Police and emergency services responded to the incident. Both the injured suspect and the lodger were taken to a local hospital, with the 34-year-old suspect placed under police guard.
