Mbanza kongo: The Mbanza Kongo District Court, in Zaire province, has sentenced a 36-year-old Angolan citizen to 14 years in prison for sexually abusing a 14-year-old child.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the sentence was read by Judge Tiago Gouveia, confirming that the incident occurred on March 13 in the municipality of Noqui. The defendant was found guilty of taking the victim to an abandoned residence and engaging in illicit intercourse.

The court upheld the complaint filed by the Attorney General's Office, highlighting the injuries and trauma inflicted on the minor due to the defendant's actions.

In addition to the prison sentence, the defendant is required to pay one million kwanzas as compensation to the victim for moral, physical, and psychological damages. The compensation must be paid within six months. Furthermore, the defendant has been ordered to pay 50,000 kwanzas in court fees.
