Man Released On Sh10 Million Bond After Bhang Trafficking Arrest

Kiambu: A man who was apprehended for transporting bhang valued at Sh13 million along the Kapchorwa-Torongo road in Kamwosor location of Keiyo South sub county has been released on a Sh10 million bond with one surety by an Iten court pending trial.

According to Kenya News Agency, Vincent Odhiambo appeared before Iten principal magistrate Emmy Kigen and pled not guilty. He faced charges of trafficking narcotic drugs, specifically bhang, on January 18 this year along the Kapchorwa-Torongo road in Kamwosor location of Keiyo South sub county. The charges indicated that Odhiambo, along with others not present in court, was involved in the trafficking.

The bhang, weighing 266kg and having a street value of Sh13 million, was allegedly being transported using a motor vehicle with the registration number KDV 627S, a Toyota Fielder.

The court has scheduled the case for mention on February 2, with the hearing set to take place on February 11 this year.
