Man Found Dead in Windhoek; Police Investigate Apparent Suicide

WINDHOEK: A 58-year-old man was found dead in his home in the Havana neighborhood of Windhoek on Saturday, in what authorities are treating as an apparent suicide. The deceased, identified as Martin Waendama Shipo, was discovered by his girlfriend, leading to a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to The Namibia News Agency, the Namibian Police Force’s weekend crime report detailed that Shipo’s body was found lying on the bed in his bedroom with a pistol in his right hand. The discovery was made at approximately 16:42 on Saturday, after his girlfriend returned home to find the door locked from the inside.

The report explained that the girlfriend attempted to contact Shipo by phone multiple times, but received no response. Concerned, she reported the situation to a mobile police station located in Havana. Police officers then arrived at the scene, broke the padlock to gain entry, and found Shipo’s lifeless body.

ary. Authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
