ONDANGWA — A 44-year-old man died after being shot with a traditional bow and arrow in an incident currently under investigation by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Oshana Region.
According to Namibia Press Agency, head of Community Policing in NamPol Oshana, the attack occurred on Tuesday night at Omashaka location while the victim was on the phone. “The victim was shot with a traditional arrow in the abdomen. He got struck by the arrow while talking on the phone at the camping site,” Aiyambo explained. The victim was at a construction site camp where he and his colleagues were building a house.
The sequence of events that followed involved a colleague, who was preparing dinner at the time, responding to the victim’s call for help. Despite efforts to save him, the victim was transported to Onandjokwe State Hospital with the arrow still embedded in his abdomen, where he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday. The identity of the suspect remains unknown as investigations continue.
