Man Escapes from Police Custody in Ndiyona, Namibia


RUNDU: A 30-year-old man, Faustinus Kandere Shinkanda, has reportedly escaped from Ndiyona Police Station in the Kavango East Region. Deputy Commissioner Eino Nambahu, Acting Regional Commander of the Namibian Police Force, informed Nampa that the escape occurred around midday on Wednesday.



According to Namibia Press Agency, The police have initiated a search operation for Shinkanda, who was being held on charges of murder and attempted murder.



Shinkanda was last seen heading towards the western direction of the Ndiyiba, Mupapama, Mabushe, Ndonga Linena, and Mbwata villages. Nambahu urged the community to be cautious, labeling Shinkanda as dangerous, and advised residents to immediately contact their nearest police station if they spot him. The details of Shinkanda’s initial arrest were not specified in the report.
