Oshikoto Region — A 36-year-old man was apprehended during a break-in at a stationery store in Tsumeb, highlighting a successful operation by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol).
According to Namibia Press Agency, Oshikoto Regional Commander Commissioner Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku stated that the incident occurred early Sunday morning at around 01:40 AM at the Waltons store in Tsumeb. The commissioner detailed that two male suspects had managed to cut through the zinc roof to enter the building. “It is alleged that the two male suspects cut the zinc roof of the store open and gained entrance into the building,” said Kalompo-Nashikaku. During the break-in, NamPol, in coordination with local crime prevention forums, conducted an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the capture of one suspect while his accomplice managed to escape.
The ongoing investigation aims to locate the second suspect and further understand the circumstances surrounding the attempted theft.
